Message from Mr. DeLuca

Picture
Dear Falcon Families,

On behalf of the staff of Rochester High School, we wish all our Falcons a happy spring break. Whether you are staying in the Rochester area or traveling with family and friends, please take this opportunity to recharge and reconnect with your child.

The week we return to school, our 9th and 10th grade students will be taking the PSAT and our 11th grade students will be taking the SAT and M-Step tests. Please review the attached testing week schedule of exact dates and times with your son or daughter so they are informed of their specific testing sessions.

All of our RHS staff has worked diligently for the past two months preparing students for these tests.  Our school-wide “SAT Prep Challenge” was a huge success, as there is no better way to prepare than honing the skills required on these tests in the classroom every day.  In addition to in-class activities, we offered students after-school tutoring using online practice through Khan Academy, which provided questions based on each student’s individual needs.
On Monday, April 11th, teachers in all classes will be providing healthy tips to help students stay bright and alert during these testing days. We encourage you to reinforce these at home as well, such as getting a good night's sleep, eating a well-balanced breakfast, and coming prepared with student ID, sharpened pencils, and a calculator.
If you have any questions in regards to the upcoming testing, please do not hesitate to contact me.

As a school community, we are excited for the upcoming tests and are confident in our students’ success, which I will report out once the results are in.

Enjoy the spring weather and the precious time with your kids.

Together we are Falcons.

ROCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS MOON OVER BUFFALO
APRIL 21st  - 23rd

Picture
The madcap comedy Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950's. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.

Tickets are available online (credit card) or at school during lunch or after school in room C102 (cash or check only).  For pricing and showtimes, or to buy tickets, visit www.RATSTheatre.org
