Congratulations to the Talon!
Congratulations to Journalism Teacher Julia Satterthwaite and her 2014-15 newspaper staff! The Talon was named a Pacemaker Finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association. They call the award a Pacemaker because it’s given to the publications that set the pace for what other school publications should strive for. The Talon is one of 60 schools in the NATION to receive this honor; only two schools in Michigan were named: The Talon and The Hawkeye out of Bloomfield Hills High School. The Talon staff will find out if they win a Pacemaker at the JEA/NSPA Fall Convention in Orlando on November 14. The Talon won its first Pacemaker in 2013 and hasen’t been a Finalist since, so they’re really excited about this prestigious honor!
